Spanish I

In this beginning level course, students will learn listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Students will learn to express themselves using an ever increasing vocabulary, present-tense verbs, articles, and adjectives. Grammar is introduced and practiced in innovative and interesting ways with a variety of learning styles in mind. Culture is integrated throughout the course to help learners focus on the Spanish speaking world, its cultures, people, geographical locations, and histories.

Spanish II

Students will communicate in Spanish from the beginning of the course. The four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing will be incorporated throughout the course. Students will expand knowledge of language structures, vocabulary, and culture. Using the language daily in class will increase the ease and confidence with which the student uses the language in the community.

Spanish III

Students will continue to acquire a full understanding of more sophisticated structure of the language, introducing the subjunctive mood. This will improve students’ ability to read and appreciate literary and non-literary texts in Spanish, deepening students awareness and understanding of the cultural diversity of the Spanish-speaking world. This course is recommended for those who successfully completed Level II.
At this level all communication will be in Spanish.

Spanish IV

Students will improve their oral fluency reading comprehension, writing skills, and mastery of grammar.
